Our Older Toddlers

Our toddlers are curious and gaining their independence and of course they need a safe environment that supports their development. We encourage our toddlers to participate in activities that are structured and designed to stimulate their development of fine and gross motor skills. We practice listening and speaking skills, as well as introducing literacy skills using a variety of stimulating, practical and explorative segments intertwined with individual and group contributions.

Our toddler’s day provides consistency while remaining flexible and our teachers adapt routines and activities when needed.

Our curriculum provides our teachers with the ability  to monitor and document a child's development. These precious moments are stored within individual portfolio's and available for parents to view using our center management app. Included in each child's portfolio are  photographs or video taken during their activities and the results of their work are available to see electronically or in the center.

7:30 - 9:00

Breakfast

Like adults, our toddlers sometimes need a little time to warm up for the day ahead. Our early morning is relaxed, allowing the children to choose a book, pick up where they left off with a favorite toy or involve themselves with a center activity of their choice.

Our toddlers will greet and interact with each other and their teachers as they arrive, enjoy their breakfast and look forward to another engaging day!

8:30 - 12:30

Circle Time

This morning meeting allows children to enjoy language development activities (songs, poems, fingerplays and stories), daily exercise and other classroom-specific routines.

Gross Motor Skills/Outdoor Play

Our toddlers spend time stretching their muscles outside each day (weather permitting) as they play games and enjoy the outdoors.

Lunch

Time to enjoy goodies that Mom packed! Toddlers enjoy their meal between 11:00 and 11:30am. Enjoying a meal together as a class builds important social skills and promotes healthy habits by making mealtimes pleasant!
