Welcome to Ready Roos Early Learning Academy!

Ready Roos Early Learning Academy was founded by owner-operators Marsha and Steven Karanikos.

 

Marsha is a "local", with her family based in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. One of 10 children, with 8 sisters and one brother, her childhood never had a dull moment! While Marsha is a PA certified educator, an opportunity to travel to Australia in the early 90's was too hard to pass on. There she met Steven and marriage and family followed. Five children later, Marsha and Steven established and operated two learning center locations in Melbourne, Australia since 2005 and in 2013 a return to the USA for Marsha and emigration for the rest of the family. Two learning centers were established in Wexford in 2015 and Cranberry Twp in 2018.

Steven is an Information Technology consultant whose career spans 38 years providing services to clients in business sectors such as Education, Finance, Logistics, Telecommunications and many others. In his 'spare time', Steven is a passionate sports photographer with a portfolio reflecting his involvement with professional and collegiate teams locally and internationally. At Ready Roos, Steven manages the IT administration, infrastructure and back office operations to make sure the wheels keep turning!

“We are excited to share our personal and professional story with all of you. Our combined professional qualifications and shared interests inspired us to open our first learning center about 20 years ago in Melbourne, Australia. The initial model of the business was focused on math education for students in grades 3 - 12." 

Their services grew to include tutoring for school English assignments based on demand from the families they were assisting. In 2013, after 8 years of serving the community in Melbourne, Australia they decided to make a personal move and the family relocated to Wexford, PA.

In 2015, they opened a similar learning center in Wexford, located on Perry Highway, ‘MathZone – Wexford’ and shortly thereafter, ‘MathZone – Cranberry Twp'. Their tutoring model continued to offer mathematics support and was further developed to offer students learning opportunities in English.

Programs such as learning to read, reading for comprehension, writing and standardized test preparation were made available to students in grades 1 and 2. They completed the curriculum offerings when they introduced  a school readiness program for the younger learners, ages 3 - 5.
Their program has been running for the last 5 years and has helped many young learners establish their foundational knowledge in preparation for their educational journey ahead.

In early 2023, they decided to expand on the key curriculum features of their successful school readiness program and converted their "MathZone - Cranberry Twp" location into a dedicated learning academy focused on preparing younger students for preschool and their journey beyond.
