Step 1 - Registration Process

The fastest way to successfully complete registration is to read all the details in the "Prepare Your Portfolio" column.

If you don't have current clearances, the enclosed information contains links to providers for you to obtain those clearances.

Once you have collected the required clearances etc., you may return to this page and complete the "Expression of Interest" form in the right column.

Once the form is submitted, you will receive access to the registration form where you will be able to upload your clearances/certificates.
Substitute Compensation
Is subject to the role, education & experience
-
Assistants - $140 per 8 hr shift
-
Educators - $170 per 8 hr shift
-
One hour lunch break
-
Is limited to 40 hrs per week

Payable on 1099 basis

Bi weekly direct deposit to your bank account

Substitute roles have no associated benefits and are not eligible for public holidays, PTO or Sick days
Must Have Prerequisites
Assistants
-
High School diploma or Associates Degree or Child Development Associate credential (CDA)
-
Minimum of 1 year of verifiable work experience in a state licensed childcare center
Educators
-
Bachelors in ECE or similar or CDA
-
Minimum of 2 years of verifiable work experience in a state licensed childcare center
Step 2 - Prepare Your Portfolio
The following documentation is required:
1. Two (2) references:
-
1st reference must be from your most recent Supervisor
- 2nd reference may be from a work colleague/peer (friends and family cannot be used)
2. Include email & cell number for each reference & details indicating your relationship (supervisor, co-worker) during employment with them

4. Clearances must be current:
5. Have you lived out of PA in the last 5 years? If so, you must advise the Academy Director as there are additional requirements for this scenario
7. Attestations
Two (2) written, verifiable, non-family letters of a single paragraph each, from individuals attesting to your suitability to serve in a daycare setting
8. ID verification and address
State ID - a copy of your driver’s license is preferred; upload a copy & bring with you on 1st day
9. Required DHS Pre-Service Training Verification:

10. Academic qualifications

Diploma - degree(s) (high school, associate, bachelor, master’s completed, other: CDA, PSAC)
